White Frog and BIM Academy will work together to provide training, research and consultancy to Chinese construction professionals

Over the last 12 months, UK BIM experts from BIM Academy and White Frog have been working with the Beijing-based Saiwill Education to support the roll-out of Building Information Modelling in China.

The use of BIM technology is not new in China, but its increasing endorsement by provincial and central government has led to a noticeable surge in interest amongst the many millions of Chinese construction professionals.

At the same time, the UK’s expertise and experience in BIM is recognised and valued internationally. In April 2015, directors of White Frog and BIM Academy took part in the ceremony that marked Saiwill’s launch of the National BIM Training and Certification Centre, accredited by the Chinese Government’s ‘National Centre of Skills and Qualifications’. This was followed by selective training events in July and October, and the opening, on 15 November 2015, of the ‘Sino-British BIM Academy’ in Beijing.

Under its auspices, Saiwill, White Frog and BIM Academy will work together to provide training, research and consultancy in this potentially vast market.

BIM Academy is a joint venture between Northumbria University and Ryder Architecture, acting as an international centre of excellence for BIM through the complementary activities of research, education and consultancy.

White Frog is a leading provider of BIM training content and strategic deployment consultancy, formed from a team of recognised BIM experts with extensive industry experience.
