New beta release of popular 3D modelling tool runs in any web GL browser

Trimble is trialling a new version of SketchUp called my.SketchUp that can run in any modern web browser. The new version of the push / pull modelling tool, popular with architects and other construction industry professionals, stores models in the cloud so they can be accessed from the office or on site.

my.SketchUp is said to feature almost all the tools from its desktop counterpart. However, as the software is currently in beta, Trimble says that not all the my.SketchUp features are ready for users just yet, with priority given to the most commonly used features.

my.SketchUp uses Trimble Connect to automatically store models in the cloud. This means models can be shared with others, and versions, clashes, and comments can be managed over time.

New users can create a Trimble account and get started with 10GB of free personal storage.
