Company CEO, Sean Flaherty launches new software including over 100 updates and features

Nemetschek/ Vectorworks today announced the forthcoming launch of the English version of Vectorworks 2015 products on Monday September 16th. From a quick glance it’s clear to see that the company has done a lot of under the hood work, as well as delivering considerable advances in it’s product depth.

The first and most notable upgrade has been the move to 64bit. With its existing customers pushing the previous architecture with large models. Vectorworks has made the move to full 64bit to handle bigger datasets and get speed improvements where possible. There is also a new graphics module which improves wireframe and planar display, view and transition animation, 3D render and Projection, refined mesh and import. It also adds support for high resolution monitors, such as Apple Retina screens or 4K monitors, text tracking.

Major software enhancements have been made with the expansion of the wall too to support the creation of complex curtain walls, enhanced constraints, support for COBie, updates to IFC export, as well as new capabilities for Stairs, Spaces, Doors and Windows. Vectorworks’s support for PDF increases, with the addition of the import of STEP files and STL (which is used for 3D printing).

Renderworks 2015 has see enhancements adding 3D Hatching to hidden line renders, OpenGL improvements, Style artistic edges and a powerful deform tool.

Vectorworks Landmark 2015 for site design see updates to roadway/ object improvements, site and model calculations, grade object improvements, drawing annotations and plant materials.

Together with new content libraries, Vectorworks enhances user’s off-site experience with a new mobile 3D viewing app called Nomad for the display and navigation through to texture 3D models. Also a new ‘Remote’ application that connects back from tablet or phone to Vectorworks on your home computer, which can be used to view navigate and present designs.
