New AI tool enables engineers without coding skills to build custom tools ‘in minutes’
Viktor, a specialist in AI for engineering automation, has launched App Builder, a new tool designed to enable engineers without coding experience to automate tasks and build tools ‘in minutes’.
App Builder is designed not only to accelerate workflows but also to improve consistency and quality by eliminating the need to retype data or copy and paste between Excel and design tools, while ensuring transparency, governance, and compliance.
Automation tasks include design checks, selection workflows, and calculations through a ‘user-friendly’ interface that can be shared and reused across projects.
App Builder can also integrate with AEC platforms and tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Autodesk Platform Services (APS), Plaxis, Rhino, and Revit.
According to Viktor, during beta testing, 80% of engineers created a working tool in under an hour, suggesting a quick learning curve. Viktor cites a digital transformation lead in the industrial sector who used AI Builder to create multiple tools — including ones for pump sizing and tank selection — each within minutes.
Firms including Vinci, Arcadis, Jacobs, and WSP have already been using App Builder.
