Snaptrude Agent launches for BIM workflows

AI agent supports workflows from early concept design to detailed BIM modelling, structural systems, MEP and construction documentation.

Snaptrude has introduced Snaptrude Agent, an AI agent for its BIM platform designed to support teams from early concept studies to construction-ready LoD 400 models incorporating structure, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), and drawings.

Users are said to retain control of the process: they give the Agent a prompt or problem, review its proposed plan, then approve it or provide further direction.

According to Snaptrude, the Agent can automate tasks across the design process, including concept modelling, detailed BIM modelling and construction documentation.

It can generate multiple massing options from a site analysis, ranging from a handful of alternatives to hundreds.

The company says the Agent can convert massing models into detailed LoD 400 BIM models in minutes. For components not available in existing libraries, users can supply vendor specification sheets for the Agent to use in modelling the relevant systems.

The Agent also supports structural and MEP parametric modelling, can generate construction drawing sets to a firm’s standards. Models can be transferred to Revit with existing families retained. Users can also instruct the Agent to revise its output when they identify issues.

Snaptrude says the tool is intended for projects across different stages and building types. Potential users include architects seeking to reduce repetitive modelling, project leads managing multiple deadlines, and firms looking to incorporate AI into established design processes.

The company also identifies use cases involving partially completed Revit projects and the development of MEP systems from an architect’s BIM model. Firms can configure workflows around their own standards and company knowledge bases, according to Snaptrude.

Projects can start from an empty site or use existing models imported from Revit, Rhino or SketchUp. This allows teams to apply the Agent to both new design work and projects already in progress.
