Lumion 2024.2, the latest release of BIM-focused architectural visualisation software, includes 103 new animated characters, more control over ray traced shadows, and clearer material thumbnail previews.
Lumion’s animated characters feature lifelike movements, with a view showcase a design’s potential by demonstrating how its intended occupants might interact with it.
The new collection introduces a diverse range of characters, with models suited to a variety of settings, including hospitality, healthcare, childcare, and business.
It includes people walking, presenting, making phone calls, taking photos, playing sports, and more.
Meanwhile, to provide more control over shadows while ray tracing is enabled, Lumion includes a new sun disk size slider. Users simply make the sun disk larger to produce softer shadows, and smaller to create sharper ones.
Finally, new preview thumbnails in the material library have been enlarged, allowing users to see the details of textures more clearly.
