Desktop app grabs screen image from BIM software viewport to produce architectural visualisations

CyberRealityX has launched a Windows desktop version of CrXaI, its AI text-to-image generator designed to produce high quality, realistic architectural images without having to use viz software to define materials, textures or lighting.

The software is intended for early-stage design, allowing users to explore different ideas for interior or exterior scenes using nothing more than a text prompt.

With the new desktop tool, users can integrate CrXaI with any desktop CAD or BIM software, such as Revit, SketchUp or Archicad. Users simply position their 3D model in the BIM software’s viewport, then from the desktop CrXaI software they can screen grab that view directly and use it the basis for the visualisation.

To help get users started, the software comes with a set of pre-written text prompts, which describe the desired output. These include building type (steel / glass, concrete or brick), season (summer, winter, autumn) or room type.

Prompts can be edited to suit, or written from scratch, describing everything from the building scene style and materials to lighting, camera angles and more.

There’s a prompt strength slider to control how closely the output adheres to the prompt. Output images can also be ‘upscaled’ for a higher resolution version.

CrXal is available as a free trial with 30 credits. A monthly subscription plan then costs $15 for 250 credits.
