Multidisciplinary collaboration environment keeps models, documents, issues and decisions synchronised across teams, while Archicad-Autodesk Forma Connection lets designers securely exchange design data in native formats

Graphisoft will use the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design in San Diego on 11-12th June to outline the next phase of what it calls its Design Intelligence Strategy, alongside a new connection between Archicad and Autodesk’s Forma platform

The announcements form part of a broader initiative by parent company, Nemetschek Group to bring its portfolio together on a single cloud-native platform spanning feasibility studies through to detailed BIM and lifecycle collaboration.

Central to the strategy is a new open collaboration layer, described as a Nemetschek Group-level initiative intended to keep models, documents, issues and decisions synchronised across teams using Graphisoft tools and the wider Nemetschek portfolio. The system is designed to support widely used industry formats including IFC, BCF, PDF, DWG and RVT, with early access planned for later this year.

Sylwester Pawluk, vice president of product management for collaboration at Graphisoft and Nemetschek Group, said the platform would offer “an intelligent multidisciplinary collaboration environment that brings architects, engineers, builders, owners, and operators into a common source of truth.”

Graphisoft is also developing a web-based design intelligence platform that uses AI and integrated simulations to allow teams to explore massing, layout and performance scenarios and optimise them against project goals and constraints. The tool is intended to work in a shared browser-based workspace without requiring BIM expertise, with early access planned for October.

Separately, an upcoming Archicad update will introduce a built-in connection to Autodesk Forma Data Management. The add-on is designed to allow Archicad users to exchange design models, documents and project information with Forma-based workflows in native formats, without leaving their preferred design environment. Márton Kiss, Graphisoft’s chief product officer, said the connection “reflects the Nemetschek Group’s and Graphisoft’s broader commitment to open collaboration and customer choice.”

Graphisoft’s wider AI portfolio, including its AI Assistant, AI Visualizer and further services built on a common platform, continues to be developed as part of the Design Intelligence Strategy. The company plans a coordinated update to its product ecosystem in early October, anchored by Archicad, BIMx, BIMcloud, MEP Designer and DDScad.
