AHR becomes first architecture-led practice to be certified by BSI to deliver construction projects at BIM Level 2

AHR has become the first architecture-led practice to be certified by BSI to deliver construction projects at BIM Level 2 for Design & Construction. This verification, which took place during March 2016, covers all aspects of the business, including Architecture, Building Surveying, Geomatics and Landscape Design.

Third party verification by BSI formally acknowledges the practice’s capability in delivering BIM Level 2 projects, as defined by PAS 1192-2:2013, BS1192-4:2014 and BS 1192:2007’.

“Having been early adopters of BIM, AHR has sought to remain at the forefront of developing BIM practices and, as the first architecture led practice to receive BSI verification, our clients and collaborators can be confident that our working methods have been independently and rigorously assessed,” said Bryan Hamilton, Director at AHR.

“It’s great to see that AHR is committed to being compliant with the requirements for PAS 1192-2 covering Design and Construction for Level 2 BIM and that the scheme is continuing to gather momentum,” said Andy Butterfield, Global Head of Construction, Product Certification at BSI. “Our certification has been developed in collaboration with industry stakeholders to ensure that it adds value and addresses the key issues which will help the construction industry with BIM implementation.”

The BSI system independently assesses businesses against the PAS 1192-2 standard, which sets out how to share information on BIM projects and lists the requirements for BIM Level 2.
