London event centres on OpenBoundaries cloud-based demo vGPU Project Platform

OpenBoundaries is offering architects, engineers and construction professionals the opportunity to try out CAD or BIM software on any device – tablet, laptop, or smart phone – with its cloud-based demo vGPU Project Platform. The virtualisation and hardware accelerated graphics technology specialist is hosting an event in London on the afternoon of Wednesday May 10.

Architects are invited to bring to ‘BYOD’ (Bring Your Own Device) to test drive the demo project platform using applications including AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max and Bentley MicroStation.

According to OpenBoundaries, within a minute or two attendees will be able to use their design software of choice on their device, enjoying the same user experience as they would on a desktop or workstation.

On the day, there will also be presentations on the business benefits to the architectural sector. This includes the OpEx payback of renting a collaborative project platform; allowing a greater choice of geographically dispersed design professionals; and being able to access up to the minute documents while on site using a tablet.

The event is being held at Brettenham House, 2 Lancaster Place, London on Wednesday, May 10. There are two sessions: 12:30pm – 3.00pm and 3:30pm – 6:00pm. Contact ianm@openboundaries.co.uk or grahamf@openboundaries.co.uk to book a place.

OpenBoundaries’ Demo platform is currently hosted by Cogeco Peer 1 and configured by the AGS team. Virtualisation is achieved by Citrix and Nvidia GRID vGPUs.
