Today Autodesk and Esri announced a strategic alliance to advance infrastructure planning and design.  The strategic partnership will build the bridge between BIM and GIS mapping technologies. Combining their technologies, Autodesk and Esri are looking to enable a broad range of industries to gain better context by visualizing data of the man-made world, the environment, citizens and the networks that weave it all together.

Esri is an major supplier of geographic information system software, having an estimated 43 percent share of the global GIS software market. The company develops web GIS and geodatabase management applications. The company is headquartered in Redlands, California and has annual revenues of approximately $1.1 Billion.
