3D mobile mapping solution now allows users to ‘see’ the location of assets using cloud-based mapping platform
Indoor Reality has updated its indoor 3D mobile mapping solution to include integration with Esri ArcGIS Online. “Now, building management professionals who need to “see” the location of assets, can do so with a seamless link directly from ArcGIS Online to Indoor Reality’s web-viewer,” explained founder and CEO, Avideh Zakhor.
ArcGIS Online from Esri is a cloud-based mapping platform, which allows location-based information to be created and shared throughout an organisation and accessed from any desktop, browser, tablet, or smartphone can be.
The Indoor Reality 3D mobile mapping solution consists of two wearable hardware systems for data capture, which share a common SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) pipeline in order to create feature rich point clouds, and 3D CAD (Revit) models for BIM. Uising the solution, users can also interactively visualise, and virtually navigate inside the ‘photorealistic’ 3D models via a web interface, allowing for 3D tagging of assets, and dimension measurements.
“The goal continues to be helping our clients make better decisions,” Zakhor said, “whether you’re a maintenance engineer who needs to view the physical location of an asset, or a leasing agent interested in understanding the dimensions of a vacant unit, or a construction superintendent needing to monitor progress, you are now able to leverage this integrated solution to make better decisions that save money and time.”
