Japanese General Contractor partners with Alice Technologies to drive project efficiency
Kajima Group is to use Alice Technologies’ construction simulation and optimization platform to optimise construction scheduling.
The Japanese general contractor will use the AI-based software to create thousands of potential construction schedule options for its projects.
Managers can then consider these choices and select the schedule that best matches their business goals for a project.
In addition, when Kajima begins construction, it will use Alice Manage to help it keep projects on time and on budget – and to re-sequence schedules easily if circumstances change.
“With Alice, we will reimagine our approach to construction scheduling,” said Koji Sugimoto, managing executive officer of Kajima Corporation and managing director of Kajima Overseas Asia.
“The platform allows us to explore myriad possibilities and to experiment with ‘what-if analysis’ in a way that we’ve never been able to do before.
“Moreover, when we begin construction, it gives us the opportunity to tune our schedule mid-project if necessary to ensure we deliver as promised.”
Founded in 1840, Kajima is one of the oldest and largest construction companies in Japan. It built Japan’s first skyscraper, the Kasumigaseki Building and one of the longest suspension bridges in Japan.
Earlier this year, Alice Technologies announced how its AI-based project planning and scheduling software will be used by Align JV to optimise construction sequcning on the UK’s High Speed 2 (HS2) rail project
