Forthcoming release of interdisciplinary BIM software said to offer increased productivity, smoother collaboration, and superior design quality.

Allplan has released details of the forthcoming 2024 version of its interdisciplinary BIM software, prior to its official launch on 11 October.

Allplan 2024 is said to feature ‘powerful and automated’ design tools, integrated cloud-based processes, and advanced BIM workflows.

For building design, a new Content Connector can be used to automate and customise content offering time savings of up to 80%. New automated steel connections are said to offer faster structural design and detailing through automated modelling. There’s also improved architectural legends for consistent representation and reliable quantity takeoff. 3D modifications and 3D clash detection directly in Allplan are said to reliably reduce errors.

For infrastructure design, the new release supports enhanced BIM workflows for infrastructure projects and roads through IFC 4.3 enhancements, while new parametric intersections offer ‘faster and intuitive modelling’ of complex requirements in road construction.

For construction, new BIM2FIELD mobile tools offer a collaborative approach for ‘fast and accurate’ site-based communication, while groundwork planning tools are said to support rapid modelling and changes, as well as precise geometry and quantities.

There are also several new features specifically focused on bridge design. This includes the ability to import all relevant superelevation data from planning partners in one step, and ‘Parametric Reinforcement Set’, where any changes introduced to the model will be reflected in the reinforcement.

Finally, for all sectors, the Allplan Exchange platform has been completely reworked for Allplan 2024 for convenient documentation transfer.
