NASA Tech Briefs and HP are challenging engineers, designers, architects and high education students from France, Germany and the UK to redefine the life of astronauts aboard the International Space Station
On September 3rd and 4th 2016 three teams in London, Paris and Hamburg will compete in the Expedition Z competition to design a device, product or hardware that will help astronauts eat, sleep, work or play.
The final solution from each team will be developed in 3D CAD. It must be a theoretical concept as close to a working product as possible but not intended to be a final design for production. Teams will have the opportunity to present their solution in English on a live webinar to the NASA Tech Briefs community.
To be part of this unique design competition, applicants must simply answer the following question in up to 250 words “What solution would you like to create for the International Space Station to make it a better place for astronauts to live?”
Successful applicants will receive a HP ZBook Workstation and the chance to win a ZERO-G Experience – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience weightlessness, float, flip and soar as if you were in space.
Applications must be received by 11:59 pm (GMT) on August 23, 2016 so get writing!
NASA is sending 120 HP ZBook Workstations to the International Space Station to help astronauts live and work in space.
