PDF editing, annotation and collaboration tool makes it debut on Mac OS X

Bluebeam Revu Mac is the first Mac OS X version of the AEC-focused PDF editing, annotation and collaboration tool. Bluebeam’s Studio Platform also now extends to Mac, allowing project teams to work together on the same documents in real time.

Revu Mac includes a range of annotation and measurement tools including text, callouts and stamps, and length, perimeter and volume calculation.

The software also includes simplified document management through ‘Studio Projects’, which allows users to upload PDFs and other file types to the cloud and share projects with partners.

For collaboration, ‘Studio Sessions’ allows distributed team members to view, chat and annotate the same PDFs together in real time, regardless of Internet access. All Session activity is tracked in a record that links back to the PDF.

Other features include overlay pages, for the comparison of two or more PDFs, and document editing for adding, deleting or rotating pages, combining multiple PDFs, or flattening annotations to make them a permanent part of the PDF.

“Revu is about uniting teams through a common language of technology,” says Bluebeam President and CEO Richard Lee. “By producing our first PDF solution for Mac, we are hoping to create a seamless user experience. Project teams can work how they’re used to, on their preferred hardware, while still collaborating on the same platform on the same documents. We’re excited to see how teams continue to leverage Revu and Studio to break down the barriers of what is possible with project communication.”
