IES Sync for Revit launches

Connection said to greatly reduce the need to rebuild models when moving from building design to energy analysis

IES has unveiled IES Sync for Revit which offers a native connection between Revit and its building-performance simulation platform IES VE.

IES Sync for Revit is designed to streamline the handover from design model to simulation. Rather than exporting an IFC or gbXML file, or reconstructing a model in IESVE from a 2D DXF file, IES Sync connects Revit directly to the IES ecosystem through a shared data intelligence layer that carries geometry, including voids and air plenums, and, in future versions, energy-relevant data.

IES has also launched a major new update for IES VE. The 2026 release is said to cut repeated set-up, checking and rework from everyday analysis while retaining the building physics and technical depth required for complex projects across key HVAC Design, Data Centre, Compliance, and BIM to BEM workflows.

The update introduces a guided HVAC design workflow, stronger safeguards for parametric studies, bulk editing for room-level HVAC controllers and a new workflow supporting overheating assessments under CIBSE TM59:2026. It also adds a dedicated feature for data centres, which enables the modelling of liquid and hybrid cooling.
