APEXX 1 1402 claimed to be the world’s smallest with overclocked Kaby Lake ‘Core i7’
BOXX has introduced the APEXX 1 1402, which it claims to be the world’s smallest workstation featuring an overclocked Intel Core i7 “Kaby Lake” processor. The space saving machine is only 4.7” (11.9cm) wide, 8.5” (21.6cm) high and 9” (22.9cm) deep and features a quad-core Intel Core i7-7700K processor overclocked to 4.7GHz.
In addition to the latest CPU technology, the liquid-cooled workstation is configurable with either an Nvidia Quadro K620, K1200 or AMD Radeon Pro WX 4100 low profile professional graphics card and will soon accommodate the new Nvidia Quadro P1000 GPU.
APEXX 1 1402 also includes Thunderbolt3 for connectivity to high performance peripherals, houses up to two 2.5 inch drives, and features an optional M.2 NVMe SSD. The workstation is designed to stand vertically, horizontally, or as a stacked component in combination with the BOXX renderPRO 1 personal dedicated rendering system.
Meanwhile, BOXX has also released a VR Ready 17-inch mobile workstation which includes the same Intel Core i7-7700K desktop class processor, clocked at 4.2GHz. The upgraded GoBOXX MXL VR also includes a 17″ Full HD display, M.2 SSD storage, and up to 64GB of RAM. It can be equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or 1080 GPUs, but not true workstation-class Nvidia Quadro GPUs
