Future Technologies for Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) – NXT BLD London, June 2018

Andrew Watts explained how Newtecnic uses tools to lightweight concrete designs, optimise for manufacture and then, through a series of optimised dashboards, keep control of incredibly complex construction processes, while always knowing the cost and optimising for assembly time.

Watts doesn’t see buildings being made in factories; he believes they will be a mixture of site-based and factory as not all parts benefit from being pre-fabricated. Looking ahead, he also is working on a projects which will be monitored and maintained by drones!
