Inevidesk VDI technology is built around pods to offer a centralised pool of GPUs

Scan Computers has entered into a partnership with Inevidesk to deliver a high-performance virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution to customers with demanding GPU requirements, as part of Scan’s Cloud portfolio.

Scan Virtual Desktop solution is designed to reduce the cost and complexity of IT infrastructure.

Rather than investing in, and managing multiple GPU-accelerated workstations, the VDI solution provides a centralised pool of GPUs, enabling remote working, and simplified IT administration.

Inevidesk’s VDI technology is built around the concept of pods, a 2U or 3U server with Nvidia workstation GPUs, high-speed networking and storage. With Scan’s Virtual Desktop solution, pods can be hosted on-premise or at one of Scan’s data centre partners. One pod can host seven users and more pods can be added to scale to as many users as a business needs.

Neil Christie, solutions director at Scan said, “The Inevidesk platform acts as a great basis of Scan’s own virtual desktop solution. Being designed from the ground up for demanding sectors such as AEC and Media and Entertainment, it fits perfectly alongside our other GPU-accelerated cloud offerings for deep learning and AI and advanced visualisation.”

Inevidesk has a background in the AEC sector with several UK-based customers.
