HPC-SA’s ArchiWIZARD software uses raytracing technology for solar heat gain and lighting analysis.
BIM, CAD and structural analysis software specialist, Graitec has acquired HPC-SA (High Performance Computing – Simulation Acceleration) and its thermal simulation software ArchiWIZARD.
ArchiWIZARD is a real time energy simulation tool that uses RayBooster raytracing technology to perform solar gain calculations (radiative intake, solar panels) and lighting calculations both daylight and artificial.
The software is used to simulate how architectural decisions (orientation, shape, position and window sizes, choice of materials, etc.) impact the energy efficiency of a building, taking geometry direct from a BIM model.
According to the company, the software is suitable for refurbishment projects and for the optimisation of new designs.
