Project EnergyPlus Cloud is a free technology preview from Autodesk for running EnergyPlus simulations in the cloud. The software, which is said to run faster than on an average desktop computer, focuses on whole building energy simulation to enable engineers, architects, and researchers to model energy and water use in buildings.
According to Autodesk, EnergyPlus is widely used for high performance building design, code compliance, and evaluation of advanced energy efficiency measures. The goals of the project include: providing rapid analysis results for EnergyPlus annual simulations by several times faster than desktop simulations and managing the EnergyPlus run process in the cloud without requiring any local computing resources.
Autodesk asks that interested parties complete a short survey to request participation in the project.
