CupixWorks 5.0 links reality, project and asset data to create “Enterprise Spatial Intelligence”

Cupix is repositioning CupixWorks from a construction-focused 3D digital-twin platform into what the company calls Enterprise Spatial Intelligence (ESI). The upcoming version 5.0 is intended to extend the platform across the asset lifecycle, from construction into operations and maintenance.

Until now, CupixWorks was primarily associated with reality capture and digital twins for construction: users record sites with widely available 360-degree cameras, and the platform reconstructs them as navigable 3D environments. Version 5.0 is intended to move beyond that record, linking it to the broader information that governs a project.

That includes 360, drone, and laser scan data, BIM models and other data from Autodesk Forma, Procore and Revizto, schedules from Excel, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Oracle Primavera Cloud and enterprise asset-management data from platforms such as SAP, IFS and IBM Maximo.

Cupix says the combined dataset can help teams align design, schedule and site progress, automate comparison of actual conditions with project intent, and surface deviations for decision-making rather than leaving discrepancies to manual review. Then by linking spatial records with asset data, construction history can be carried into operations to support maintenance and future renovation.

Cupix is initially targeting complex facilities such as hyperscale data centres, pharmaceutical laboratories, semiconductor fabs, airports and hospitals. It describes the platform as a kind of “long-term memory” for a building or asset, retaining a record of change over time.

CupixWorks 5.0 also includes new ways to access the platform. Compass lets users ask questions in simple language and receive answers linked to relevant captures, dates and locations.

It can search captures, notes, model data and assets. Meanwhile, AI agents can access data through the Cupix Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector.

Other capabilities include semantic classification of point clouds and a custom object locator for tracking selected objects in 3D.

Customers can now apply for the invitation-only beta of CupixWorks 5.0.

Cupix’s customers include DPR, Whiting Turner, Gilbane, Flour, Walbridge, CPB Contractors, Downer, Takenaka, and Kajima, Tutor Perini, BNBuilders, Bouygues UK, Kitchell Southland, W.E. O’Neil, Naylor Love, and Voith Paper.
